Claudia's Babies are 5 weeks old

Claudia has done amazingly well with her seven kitten's, she has now been feeding them herself for 5 weeks and they are all looking really plump.

Claudia is eating ! a lot ! but she isn't gaining any weight so as soon as the kittens are weaned we will have to make sure she is well looked after to replenish her body weight.

Here are a couple of pictures of the seven babies.

Mia's Christmas Presents

Maclaw Bengals is very happy to announce Forest Gems Mia Maclaw has delivered three beautiful healthy kittens on 11th December. Mia while very tired is happy and feeding her babies contentedly.

We are very happy with our new Christmas babies..

Mia had a tough time earlier in the year when all but one of her kitten's were born dead. As Mia was very low and depressed our vet advised putting her back with Duncan as soon as she was ready, but quite frankly our Mia has always done things to her own timetable and waited quite a while before she went back into heat.

So here we are with Claudia's seven and Mia's three. Ten stunning little babies ! Quite a Christmas Present ! I think you would agree.

Crazy November Snow...

It’s been a very snowy day today at MaclawBengals,
at the moment we have about 8” outside..

The heaters are going at full steam in the outdoor houses and we had to lock the girls inside as they were enjoying playing in the snow too much and getting very cold.

The outdoor wheel is also getting a good extreme weather test.. Here are some pictures taken today

Empress Claudia Maclaw has delivered her kittens

We are so pleased to announce Claudia has delivered safe and very healthy, SEVEN! beautiful kittens, yes I did say SEVEN!!!!

The kittens were born on Sunday 7th. November, Claudia had her first kitten at 8.20 am and her last kitten at 3.45 pm.

Tired but very content she then settled down
to feed her new babies.

We are so happy and proud of her, we also believe Claudia was helped by our own Maclaw wheel which she used all the way through her pregnancy.

We believe we have 6 males and one female but cannot be 100% sure yet as Claudia understandably is a little protective of her beautiful brood and we don't want to upset her.

We will keep you posted and pictures will soon follow.

Well done Claudia and congratulations Duncan,
your a daddy again!!

Our Beautiful Claudia is due to have her Kitten's

Empress Claudia Maclaw is due to have her first litter of kitten's and her due date is 6th. November.

Claudia had a bad time the first time she became pregnant she got a nasty cold and re absorbed her kitten's.

This time she has gone full term and we are very excited to see how Claudia copes with her kitten's when they come. If she is anything like her own Mum we expect she will be a really excellent mum.

As soon as our Claudia's babies arrive we will update the news page to let everyone know.

Our Beautiful Boy Flynn has been reserved

Our Flynn has now been reserved, we are down to our last three girls for this year.

A very nice young couple came on Monday to view Zuri's babies. They were not sure whether to get a male or a female bengal. Glen and Natalie are from Spennymoor and have a beautiful 4 month old baby girl called Amelia.

They decided to go and have a think about which kitten they liked the best.

On Wednesday evening Natalie phoned us back and had decided young Flynn is the boy for them. We think they have made the right decision, Flynn is cheeky, friendly and loving. He will grow up with Amelia and we are sure they are going to be the best of friends.

Zuri's 3rd. Birthday

We have another birthday coming up shortly. Our Tatudtiger Serenity( Zuri to us) will be three years old on the 17th. October.

Zuri surprised us earlier in the year when she gave birth to a beautiful seal lynx baby and two absolutely stunning little brown rosetted babies too.

We had not been aware that she carried the snow gene, but after some research into her back ground she clearly does, as does her mate Littlestar Pawnee ( Big Red).

This is a learning curve for us and now we know exactly what we can expect from our lovely boy Big Red and our beautiful birthday girl Zuri.

Her babies are now eight weeks old and will be getting ready to leave us after all their vaccinations and health checks are completed.

Happy Birthday Zuri lots of love from Mum,Dad and the boys XX biggrin

Bye bye Little Miss Sparkle

On Wednesday evening we got a call from a nice lady called Dawn, she has a sweet little Scottish Fold called Jet and was looking for a companion for her.

She and her two daughters came to have a look at our last kitten Sparkle. Sparkle liked both Dawn and her two teenage daughters and they liked her too.

We feel Sparkle will be the ideal companion for Jet, she's cheeky and playful while still being gentle and loving.

Dawn didn't want to wait and Sparkle was quite keen to set off for her new home in Birtley, as soon as Dawn brought in the cat carrier Sparkle got in and settled down.

We are very pleased Sparkle has found a nice new family and a loving home, and we hope you get on well with Jet.

So good luck Sparkle we will miss your cheeky face but we know you will be happy with your new family. biggrin

Bye Orion

We are happy to announce our big handsome boy Orion has a wonderful new family who are going to love and care for him.

Ellen Walker and her lovely family have decided he's the Bengal for them. She came all the way from Northants to pick him up, and they have decided to name him Simba, which we think suits him very well.

So bye and good luck Simba we're sad to see you go, but we know you are going to a great family who will love you as much as we do.

We still have 1 female kitten left from Lily's litter..

1 and only Girl from Lily’s litter – 17 weeks old
Fantastic wild looks from Sparkle

Maclaw Wheel Stealth - Update

We now have 2 outdoor wheels in testing
with the Girls and Red..

We are pleased with how they are doing so far, but want to see how they hold up over the winter period, if all goes well it should be ready for sale next year.

We feel this will be a breeder essential as its wall mountable fitment allows for use in outdoor cat houses. Our girls are really enjoying being in the fresh air and getting plenty of exercise on the wheel, but Red having never used a wheel before needs a little more time to get to know it..

We must stress that we have produced this wheel with the intension that it is installed in an outdoor cat house, it would still not be suitable for use without some sort of cover.

We have also designed a new back guard to protect the cats against the mechanism and plan to start using this on our stand based wheels as well.

More updates soon ninja

Zuri's Cubs

As we told you recently Zuri had three beautiful cubs, she kept them very much to herself for the first week of their lives.

Well Zuri has now allowed us to intrude a little bit into her nest and we have found she has 1 very handsome boy and 2 cute little girls.

Our first snow cub is a beautiful girl and her eye's are just opening.

Watch this space and we'll keep you posted. wub

Good luck Bronson

One of our beautiful boys has been adopted by a lovely family from the Shetlands. Jeanette and her family decided they would like one of our bengals to share their home in this remote part of the world.

As Jeanette has quite a large family and a busy schedule she entrusted viewing to her brother Rod and his girlfriend. Cheeky Bronson with his out going personality was a cert from the first moment they met him.

We will miss the little devil as he was a real character and full of mischief, we are sure Jeanette and her family are going to adore him as much as we do.
So goodbye Bronson we love you and wish you and your new family well, hopefully we will get some pictures of you and your family to put on our website.

Our Beautiful Zuri has had her babies.

On Monday the 16th. we woke early to find Zuri was in labour. She gave birth to four gorgeous little kitten's.

Unfortunately one of the kitten's, a sweet little snow was tiny and very weak. Nature can be very cruel sometimes and soon the poor little thing faded, unable to feed from her mum and although Zuri tried to care for her she was clearly too weak to survive.

The three remaining kittens, one Seal Mink and two brown/black rosetted seem a lot stronger and are feeding well.

Zuri is a very attentive mother and refuses to let anyone near them, growling at any intruder who gets near her nest.

So as soon as Zuri allows we will check to see what sex they are but for now we are content to let their very capable mother nurse and care for her beautiful little family.

Congratulations to Big Red their very handsome Dad. biggrin

Bye bye babies

Our kittens are finding new homes all over the country.

Diablo has been adopted by a very nice lady called Anna from Durham who was looking for a nice sweet boy to be a house pet and company for her.

T.J. has been adopted by two very nice young men called Paul and Lloyd from Lincolnshire, they took him home to be a companion for their current house cat.

And this evening Lewis and Harrison have been adopted by a very nice young couple Simon and Nikki from Alnwick. They wanted two stunning, handsome boys as house pets. Simon has never had cats before but Nikki is a feline veteran having had cat's all her life.

We know all our kitten's have been really lucky and have gone to exceptionally good and loving homes, we wish them all the very best and although it is sad to say goodbye we are happy knowing they will be loved and well cared for.

So bye bye babies we'll miss you but hopefully your new parents will keep in touch and send us lot's of pictures and updates please.

Happy Birthday Claudia

Today is our sweet little Claudia's first birthday.
Claudia is our first home bred kitten that we decided to keep because of her stunning good looks.

Claudia has had a bad couple of months, for no apparent reason she stopped eating and seemed to have resorbed her kitten's, our vet had a look at her and said he was sure he could'nt feel any kitten's. However a day after what would have been her due date Claudia gave birth to one full term kitten, but unfortunately the poor little thing was born dead.

Claudia seemed to pick up after that and is back to her normal self, full of mischief and fun (bless her).

So Happy Birthday Claudia we are so glad you are well again wub

Bye Aramis

Our beautiful Aramis has gone to his new home.

At the weekend a lady phoned and asked to come and have a look at Sukira's kitten's. They were looking for a female kitten but after seeing our cheeky boy they just could not resist him.

Our best wishes and lots of love go with Aramis and we know Denise and her lovely family will take really good care of him.

Of the four of Sukira's babies Aramis has always been the most cheeky and forward, a real character and he looks stunning we just know he is going to be a fantastic Bengal and up to loads of mischief.

Sukira his mum, Nova, Orion and Lewis will miss him too. wub

Mia's Little Miracle "It's a Girl"

As promised here is the update on Mia's little one.

After a very rough beginning Mia seemed to settle down with her one baby.

But after only a week things seemed to be going down hill rapidly! the kitten began to lose weight. Mia had seemed to have a lot of milk but unfortunately with only one little mouth demanding milk she began to lose it.

Our V/N at Simply Cats suggested supplimentary feeds which I duly did.

Within two days the little one started to pick up and gain weight, we are feeding her now every four hours. Even during the night.

As you probably guessed she's a beautiful little girl and we decided to name her Dineo (which apparently means Gift from God).

We feel she was meant to be and someone is definitely guarding over her.

She is three weeks old on Wednesday and growing rapidly, her mum is still managing to feed her a little and clean her which is great for us, all we have to do is feed her from her bottle and pass her back to Mum.

Mia like our Lily is a fantastic mother, well! she is Tiger Lily's Mum after all. Which just goes to prove, it's all in the genes.

Sukira and Lily's Beautiful Kittens

Suki's kittens are just coming up to 13 weeks old this week end and will very soon be leaving us for their new homes.

While it's always a bit sad for us to see them go, it's nice to think they are moving to happy and loving homes where they will be well cared for.

We always try to keep in touch with their new families and encourage them to send us pictures of our beautiful kittens, because we are very proud of all of them.

Lily's six kitten's are now 11 weeks old and very soon will also be leaving us.

I'm very proud of Lily as she was my first Bengal and I was always a bit unsure of breeding her as she was spoilt as a kitten.

But my fears are clearly unfounded she produced six of the most stunning Bengal kitten's and each has a very unique and cheeky character just as fearless and charismatic as their beautiful mum.

Lily was and is such a good mother, she needed no help what so ever from me or anyone else.

She plays with them, trained them, fed them and never once made a fuss or grumbled (which she can do when she doesn't get her own way). Needless to say I love all my Bengals but my Tiger Lily is my number 1 Queen. smile

Zuri's Little Secret

Our beautiful little Tatudtiger Serenity (Zuri to us) is expecting kitten's on or around the 14th. August.

Zuri is quite a quiet and calm little girl and we thought she was not pregnant, she showed no outward signs of pregnancy and her feeding didn't seem to increase.

But now with only a few days to go Zuri has suddenly blossomed, and although we speculated as to was she?
wasn't she? no one really knew for sure.

So we should have some nice pictures to
show every one very soon.

Well done Zuri, you kept your little secret well. biggrin

We would like to congratulate our lovely vet Sarah on the birth of her baby son Oliver Paul on 27th. July.

Although Oliver was three weeks early he weighed a very healthy 8Lb. 4ozs.

His dad Paul, also a vet from Simply Cats and Simply Horses, seemed very pleased with their new arrival, if a bit shell shocked from his son's early arrival.

We wish the new family all our best wishes. wub

Mia's Little Miracle

Our lovely Mia gave birth this morning to three little kitten's. Unfortunately one was still born ( a sweet little girl) and another died shortly after, poor little darling was extremely small and very weak, we kept him warm and tried to feed him but no luck.

Mia was very aggitated and upset so I did my best to settle her down with the one remaining kitten, who I am pleased to report is doing well and feeding normally.

Mia is now sleeping peacefully with her sweet little kitten, as Mia was so upset I didn't want to bother her so I don't know the kitten's sex yet but I will keep everyone updated on his/her progress.

We have a feeling this one is going to be a special kitten, a real little miracle.

Congratulation's Big Red your a Dad! biggrin

Prince Nazeem Maclaw

We have received some lovely pictures of Prince Nazeem Maclaw, his special pet name is Kitten.

Kitten was one of Mia's kitten's from last August.

His mum Sonia thought we would like to see just how grown up and beautiful he is, thank you so much Sonia.

Kitten was always so full of fun and a real little handful, Sonia tells us he hasn't changed, he is still full of fun and mischief and loves to help with chores like cleaning out the cupboards!!

Wow! he turned out to be such a handsome boy and he looks so happy and settled with Sonia and her lovely family.

Tiger Lily's and Sukira's Kittens

The six kittens Lily had are all doing well and are one week old tomorrow. I have checked them all and we have five stunning boys and one very beautiful little girl.

That means with Sukira's three gorgeous boys and one fabulous little girl. We are a bit short on girls!! but we don't mind as our boys are all so gorgeous.

We also have Mia in with Big Red at the moment so hopefully we will get some hot orange stunners from their pairing.

Mia has been a bit of a worry as she is an extremely forceful female and has always bullied Duncan, we therefore decided Red was the boy for her and they really seem to like each other.

That's all for now.

We will keep everyone posted on the babies progress. biggrin

The Babies Have Arrived, Suki Update and Camo Duncan

We are pleased to announce that Lily gave birth to 6 beautiful healthy kittens today, we will be keeping a close eye on this litter to try and make sure all goes well.

Lily is very tired, but doing fine and feeding the little ones as we post, we count 5 boys and 1 Girl..

Suki Update

Suki and the 4 kittens are doing very well, all eyes are
open now and they are stretching a lot more.

Camo Duncan

We have been trying for several weeks now to get Duncan comfortable on a harness so he can go for regular walks in the garden, but he hates it and ends up all in a tangle..

We decided to go looking for something that would be more confortable and less restricting and thankfully we found Mynwood Cat Jackets.

Maria makes fantastic quality perfectly sized jackets and we tried Duncan with his today. He wasn’t 100% confident with it at first, but he was much more relaxed and after about 1 hour of having it on he started to wander around.

We might try Red with it soon, but we don’t think he has ever had one on and is still very nervous of us..

Thats all for now..

Not Long for Lily and Suki, plus Breeding Update

Just an update to say we expect Lily's babies to arrive any day now, she is starting to get very uncomfortable with her large kicking bulge.

Suki Update

Suki and her remaining 4 kittens at doing very well, all 4 are looking very healthy and the eyes of one of the boys has started to open up.

Breeding Update

last Sunday Mia went into heat so we decided it was time for her to go in with Big Red, it was a very successful pairing and both have been getting on ok, Red is still a bit shy, but Mia isn’t and keeps forcing him into spending time with her.

providing all has gone well we hope for more
Kittens from Mia later in the year.

Eventually we plan for Zuri to also go in with Red and Claudia will be going in with Duncan when she is older.

Thats all for now, more updates soon happy

Some Sad News

Unfortunately we lost two of Suki's Kittens today :(

It became apparent very quickly that two of the female Kittens were very small and weak compared to the others and not able to feed properly due to the other little ones nudging them out of the way.

Suki then ejected them from the nest so we had to intervene, despite our best efforts to bottle feed the little ones, they past away this afternoon, they were simply too weak.

We are very sad that their lives ended so soon, but we take
comfort that the remaining 4 kittens are of a good size and doing very well.

The Babies Have Arrived and Happy Birthday Suki

We are pleased to say Sukira became a mother today,
she gave birth to six beautiful, healthy kittens this morning.

Mother and babies are all sleeping peacefully
in our snug kitten room.

So Congratulations Sukira and Duncan, and well done Sukira
you did it all on your first Birthday.

Happy Birthday Suki biggrin

Duncan is going to be a Dad!

Maclaw Bengals is very pleased to announce we have two up coming happy events. Our fabulous Stud Boy GB Silverpride Duncan Maclaw is about to be a Dad! Twice!.

Both Lounge Leopard Tiger Lily Maclaw and Lounge Leopard Sukira Maclaw are expecting their first litter of kittens. Both girls are doing well and we will keep you updated, we believe Sukira will give birth first roughly around the 7th May, which coincidently is her first birthday.

Lily we believe is about 2 weeks behind Sukira and should give birth around 18th May. Keep watching for photographs, as soon as our little furballs of joy arrive we’ll let everyone know. Needless to say we are all very excited at this fantastic news and cannot wait for our new arrivals!

Please note if you are on our kitten list, as soon as the kittens are born and we are sure they are all safe and well we will contact you to let you know personally.

New Additions and New Cat House

Well it’s been weeks and weeks since we last updated the site and have lots to announce.

A few weeks ago our friends at Silverpride Bengals contacted us with plans to downsize a little and wanted to find a new home for 2 of their active Bengals. We gave it some thought and decided we would take on the 2 cats and introduce them into our breeding program.

Introducing “Littlestar Pawnee” or Big Red as we are affectionately calling him.

Pawnee is a 4 year old active male from USA and Canadian imports and joins us as our second stud, for whatever reason he is extremely nervous and we expect it will take some months before he is settled and happy with us.

As you can see from his picture, this is his reaction whenever we get near , but he very much appreciates a nice stroke and is very gentle.

We had to work quickly and lay the foundations for a new stud house and are pleased that after 2 weeks we finally got him moved in today, we hope with all the space and fresh air he can get settled soon.

Here are some images of his new mansion, we still have many climbing additions to build into it, but we wanted to get him in right away as we had put him in the girl’s new house and he was spraying heavily making an unpleasant smell.

Introducing “Tatudtiger Serenity” but we like to call her Zuri. Like Red, Zuri is a little nervous but she loves attention and has decided a little nip here and there keeps us on our toes. She is staying in the kitten room at the moment until her quarantine period is up.

We will be moving her into Snowdrop Cottage for the summer and hopefully she and Red will make some beautiful kittens.

Zuri is 2 years old and is a lovely matt brown rosette Bengal, she doesn’t have the glitter gene like all our other girls do but her high contrast coat is still very beautiful and we expect great things from her.

New Images : Duncan and Suki

It's been ages since we last took images of the cats, so whilst Duncan and Suki were playing in the conservatory we decided to take some snaps.

Duncan is really starting to grow up now and his interest in the girls is starting to strengthen..

We intend to start taking loads of new images and videos this year so keep checking back for new images of Lily, Mia, Claudia, Suki and Duncan.

Hidden Tuna Construction Images

Well it's been a few weeks since we said we would be installing the new outdoor cat house, but finally last weekend a break in the bad weather allowed us to push ahead with laying the foundations and putting it all together.

It’s still a work in progress so we will post more images when it's fully complete, but for now here are our construction images..

Posted on 04 Feb 2010 by Jacqueline Hodgson

CodeName : Hidden Tuna

In November last year we placed an order for a new outdoor cat house for the girls to use this summer.

To our surprise it was delivered 3 days later but because of the poor weather we have been unable to clear the new area and build it.

Hopefully next weekend (Weather permitting) we will be installing the new house and taking lots of new pictures for the website. We have not yet given the new house a name so for the moment its CodeName : Hidden Tuna.
